Richmond to open first Haitian Cuisine
RICHMOND, VA – Enlivening Haitian Cuisine
One of its kind coming to Richmond
Of the many cultures represented, Richmond finally opens its doors for fare that is not only distinguishable through its spices and flavors, but for the history behind its rich culture.
A taste of Haiti will be coming to Virginia with the grand opening of The Pearl of Haiti Café & Catering. Experience culture like never before, as this grand opening will provide an amazing sampling of food, Haitian music, professional and social networking opportunities, exciting raffles and prizes.
The Pearl of Haiti Café & Catering will be the first of its kind to offer Haitian Cuisine in the Richmond area. Its vision is to introduce its customers to several new blends of spices and dishes. In addition, customary delicacies would be presented, including Haiti’s renowned traditional dish consisting of succulent fried pork, flavorful rice to include mushroom flavored rice, and fried plantains.
The Pearl of Haiti Cafe & Catering plans to initially open its doors as a catering business and a pop-up style restaurant,” says owner Diane Gaillard. “Our goal is to eventually open into a full service restaurant, meeting Richmonder’s needs.
”The Pearl of Haiti will be offering catering options for private events, festivals, weddings, and more!
The grand opening of the Pearl of Haiti Café & Catering will be held on Saturday, April 19th, from 6-8 PM at Kitchen Thyme, which is located on 7801 W. Broad Street. The cost will be $5 per round. Grab your family and friends and enjoy the best of Haitian cuisine.
The Pearl of Haiti Café & Catering is owned by Diane Gaillard, who was born and raised in New York City and is of Haitian descent. Diane’s expertise has been featured on the local CBS-WTVR news broadcast preparing Haitian cuisine.
